Inspired by the classic Christmas hits of the 70s, Crazy Home Ed Christmas captures the essence of a festive singalong, while highlighting the creativity and curiosity that define the home education experience.
“Recent headlines reporting a doubling in the numbers of children being electively home educated in the UK have framed the rise as a problem, almost a crisis facing the new government. We do not see it that way - we see it as a positive and as something to celebrate,” says Simon Indelicate. “Crazy Home Ed Christmas celebrates the unique worldview of the home ed community—where everything is an opportunity to learn, and learning is always fun.”
The song, written as part of a home education project by Ryder and Simon and recorded in The Indelicates’ home studio, explores Christmas traditions through the lens of learning from the physics of Santa’s sleigh to the chemistry of Brussels sprouts. The project exemplifies the EHE community’s approach to education: hands-on, engaging, and deeply connected to the world around us.
All profits from the single will go toward supporting the community’s annual Christmas show in Brighton. Held this year on December 6th
